John’s Top 10 Games of 2011

Our "Official" Unofficial site mascot lets us know what his favorite titles of last year were

[10] Hyperdimension Neptunia

NISA released this quirky RPG back in February and it’s stuck in my mind as one of the most unique games of the year. Depicting the Console Wars, Hyperdimension is a great parody of the games industry and is silly anime fun.

[9] Zen Pinball (iOS)

Zen Studios brings its Zen Pinball series over to iOS and it’s a true joy for pinball fans. Simple controls ensure that your high scores won’t be held back by control issues. Great physics and fantastic graphics and sound, this is how pinball should be done on mobile.

[8] Pokemon Black/White

Gotta catch em’ all one more time. Pokemon B/W represents Nintendo’s attempt to revitalize their aging Pokemon franchise and for the most part, they succeed. More lively battles and some great online features bring this series up to date, it’s just a shame the story is afraid to enter the compelling territory it began to skirt.

[7] Daytona USA HD

DAYTONAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

[6] Tetris Axis

With over 20 game modes, including a fantastic minute based Fever Mode, Tetris Axis is one of the best versions of the classic puzzler ever released. Online multiplayer will keep you coming back if the stellar single player modes aren’t enough.
