“I am no friend of yours. I am Rain, a prince of Edenia” Rain said to Taven (MK: Armageddon)
Debuting in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 as an unplayable character, he is also know for being a joke character. (Named after a Prince Song, Purple Rain) The joke expands when Rain is revealed to be a Prince; it just helps the joke seem relevant. He made more appearances in Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Advance, Deception (as a cameo) and Armageddon; The water bending Prince/Ninja makes his way onto Mortal Kombat 9.
His move set is quite an interesting one and most players would enjoy using and experimenting with different combos. Take a look at his move list for Mortal Kombat 9.
Water –Port: Rain’s teleporting move; Rain “water bends” himself to appear behind his opponent.
Super Kick: Rain kicks his opponents across the screen, and then makes them reappear on the opposite side. Enhancing the move by turning it into Power Kick; this allows you to charge the kick for a short time before releasing it.
Water Bubble: Rain water bends and throws a water ball towards opponents trapping them in a water bubble, you can then take control of the bubble and move it around anywhere on the screen for a short time before the bubble pops, releasing your opponent. Normally the move does not damage your opponent, but when enhancing the move to Hydro Bubble, it does a small amount of damage. You can use this move to chain combos together and keep a combo going by catching opponents before hitting the floor.
Geyser Kick: Making use of his water bending, Rain does a hand stand then water bends to launch himself into the air doing an upward kick. Enhancing it to Thermal Spring adds some damage and launches opponents further away. Works well as an anti-air move to catch people off guard when they jump.
Lightning: Rain can summon a thunder cloud to strike his opponents with lighting, launching them into the air. Good to start up combos and keep opponents in the air. Enhancing to Thunder Storm adds 2 extra hits.
Aqua Splash: Rain water bends and streams of water burst out of his hand and splash opponents, damaging them. Mid-range projectile; really doesn’t cover much distance or do that much damage. Enhancing to Aqua Blast just adds a short amount of damage done.
H2O Boost: Rain covers himself with water adding a damage boost for a short time, also disables blocking. Enhancing to H2O Buff adds some extra time.
X-ray Attack- Rain Check: Rain spouts water under neath his opponent’s feet, launching them in the air; as they come, he snaps their elbow joint, afterwards he kicks their skull cracking it. If you have enough time, you can catch opponents with this X-ray attack before they hit the ground.
Rain provides some interesting combos to play around with. He is really fun to use. His move set is well balanced and makes a good character overall to use. It is pretty easy to pick on his combos but can also still be very technical.

Rain was a playable fighter in ultimate mortal kombat three for the super Nintendo. But not on the genesis.
You surely know how to bring a difficulty to mild and make it crucial. I cant think youre not far more popular since you certainly have the gift.
