Empty Lifebar Takes on Final Fantasy XI (August 8, 2012)

It was a bit slow this week but check out what we got accomplished on FFXI

This week on Final Fantasy XI was actually kinda slow. Between my internet hating me and going down a lot and Erik being very busy, it wasn’t until late in the week that we got anything done. Alfred and I hit the level 50 level cap fairly early this week, me on my monk and him on Summoner and White Mage. So, it was pretty much a lot of random quests and things of that nature for a chunk of the week.

The week was not wasted, though, because if nothing else I was able to get my Artifact Weapon for my Monk. By the way, that quest was complete hell. Alfred and I tried that quest like 3 times with me and him and got completely murdered each time; it wasn’t until Erik came online that we were finally able to topple the Notorious Monster it sent us after.

Along with that, I was able to get my Dancer up to level 40, which is good since I intend to main Dancer and sub Monk. Dancer is such a fun class I discovered, also they are a bit overpowered. Not only can I run into battle and kick some major ass but I’m able to perform maintenance (heal) right in the thick of battle without really missing a beat. Along with that, all of the different Sambas that allow me to steal HP/MP from monsters are great.  Can’t wait to see what else that class holds in store.

On the other side of things this week, Alfred actually got much more done than I did. He was able to get his fame up pretty high over the course of the week. This helps him out a lot as he has access to many more quests than I do. His biggest accomplishment this week, though, was gaining the summon, Shiva.

Towards the very end of the week, Tuesday night to be exact, we finally finished our Limit Break quest. For those of you who don’t play FFXI, this means we can level past level 50 now, but only to 55 and then we have to do another quest. Thankfully, once you finish the quest on one class, its universal so you don’t have to do it on every class to get them past level 50.

One really neat thing this week was the start of the Sunbreeze Festival. This was a big surprise to me as when I logged on I was greeted by giant tents and decorations everywhere in San d’Oria. Along with that, I logged on just in time to watch some fireworks.

As you can tell, this week was a less eventful than the weeks past. However, we still were able to make some progress. Hyrina, Spoony and Smurgen all unlocked some new classes to play around with and some of us even hit level 50. Thankfully, Alfred, Spoony and I completed our Limit Break quest last night so we can level up some more. This next week will hopefully be more eventful as we look to take on some more missions and hopefully get our Airship pass.
